Our Story
ABS Direct is proud to be the offspring of ABS Facade, a leader in the facade / window industries for over 15 years.
While traditionally supplying exclusively to ABS Facade in the commercial sector, we’re now opening our doors to service the wider construction industry including residential in Canberra and surrounding areas.
We bring a unique advantage: a state-of-the-art facility backed by the experience of a highly skilled team. With over 15 years of expertise under our belt before launch, we’re equipped to tackle your most demanding projects.

Our Process
We collaborate closely with you and your design team to fully understand your design concepts and current fabrication requirements. Our goal is to ensure that every aspect of your vision is realised with precision and quality.
Once the design is approved, your project progresses through the various stages of our factory for fabrication. A thorough quality assurance process is conducted prior to delivery, ensuring that all components meet our high standards. We prepare your fabricated items for timely delivery, using our own local trucks to facilitate easy unloading and handling.
Meet Our Team
- Matt Guy
Fabrication Manager
Matt Guy, with seven years of service at ABS by 2024, is a qualified cabinet maker. He initially managed the composite line and some glazing jobs at ABS’s previous factory in Hume. Transitioning to logistics manager, Matthew played a key role in setting up the mega factory in 2022, streamlining processes for efficiency.
In 2023, Matt became the Factory Production Manager, overseeing numerous projects. His involvement in setting up the mega factory and his leadership in production management have been crucial to ABS’s operations. Matt looks forward to continuing his contributions, helping deliver outstanding projects and expanding ABS’s reach within the industry.
- Jarrod Hillary
Operations Manager
Jarrod Hillary has dedicated seven years to ABS by 2024, transitioning from a different industry to become a key player in the company. Initially spending two years on the tools for various builds in Canberra, Jarrod gained valuable hands-on experience. A brief stint in the factory fabricating further broadened his skill set.
As a site foreman, Jarrod led large builds involving glazing, balustrade, and cladding. He then moved into project management, delivering over 15 projects, including Canberra’s largest building. For the past two years, Jarrod has served as the Operations Manager within ABS Direct’s fabrication arm, contributing to the company’s dynamic growth and success.
- Dean Smith
Glazing & Machining Manager
Dean Smith, with eight years at ABS as of 2024, is a qualified cabinet maker by trade. Starting in the factory, he introduced new folding and machining techniques still in use today. Dean mastered machining cladding panels on multi-cam CNCs and managed the factory for a period. His site work includes a stint at St Vincent’s Hospital as a laborer installing back pans.
Gaining experience as a site foreman, Dean returned to the factory to set up a new workshop with state-of-the-art machines. His six years of machining experience have continuously improved ABS’s capabilities. Notably, Dean contributed to the Brindabella 6 Curtain Wall project, ensuring precision machining for curved panels and a world-class finish.
- Scott Geronomi
Metal Fabrication Manager
Scott Geronimi’s eight-year tenure at ABS, as of 2024, highlights his broad expertise and dedication. Starting on the factory floor fabricating aluminum panels, Scott quickly demonstrated his capability and versatility. Scott’s hands-on experience expanded further when he joined the site team as a cladding installer, contributing to major residential and government infrastructure projects.
Returning to the factory, Scott currently manages the Metal Fabrication section, supervising two Biesses, a laser cutter, two break press machines, and a roll form machine. Scott’s journey both externally onsite and in the factory underscores his comprehensive understanding of the company’s operations and his integral role in its success.
- Trent Stephenson
Powder Coating Manager
With two years at ABS by 2024, Trent Stephenson brings a wealth of experience in painting and powder coating. His career began with a decade of spray painting cars in a prestige smash repair shop, where he developed a meticulous eye for detail and finish. Transitioning to powder coating at CPC, Trent spent four years refining his skills before joining ABS.
At ABS, Trent has been instrumental in establishing the powder coating line from scratch, a testament to his expertise and innovative mindset. Running the powder coat line, he ensures high-quality finishes on a variety of projects. Trent’s greatest career achievement to date is this successful startup, showcasing his ability to lead and innovate within the industry.
- Phil Brown
Welding Manager
Phil Brown brings over 35 years of welding industry experience to ABS, with seven years of service as of 2024. His extensive career includes significant roles as a leading hand for 15 years and a manager at ABS for the past seven years. Phil has worked across various workshops, specializing in stainless steel, structural steel, and steelworks within recycling plants.
Phil’s expertise extends to architectural steel, both in site work and workshop settings. He has played a crucial role in notable projects such as the John Curtin Medical School and commercial sunshades on buildings, as well as stainless steel balustrades and stairs. Phil’s diverse experience and leadership have been pivotal in delivering high-quality projects for ABS.
- Tammie Hensley
National Procurement/Relationship Manager
With over 20 years’ experience having worked across multiple industries in various roles from Sales, Operations and Branch Management it’s true to say that Tammie really understands the cost of doing business and the urgency of delivering goods on time. Joining our team 2 years ago she has worked on numerous key projects gaining a great understanding of the facade business.
Procurement plays a key role in this process to make sure goods are delivered in time, with the right quality and at the best rate. Building relationships with key suppliers is what Tammie does best utilising our National footprint formalising National & international deals for the highest quality product.
- Atonio Matanalailai
Logistics Manager
Having completed his carpentry trade and working on both residential & commercial projects, Toni has made the transition to running our logistics team. Composed of a five truck fleet, Toni ensures deliveries arrive safely and on time.
With our projects operating nation wide, Toni does a fantastic job servicing all our delivery needs. The smile says it all! He will be all too happy to help you service your project needs.
- Aason Ow
Glazing & Curtain Wall Floor Manager
Aason is a skilled tradesman who over the past three years, has focused is skills into the intricacies of window and curtain wall fabrication. Aason has led a team of over 20 staff members to complete a number of major projects. Including the Coffs Harbour Hospital, CIT Woden, WOVA Precinct & The Establishment in Gungahlin, just to name a few.
Aason’s eye for detail and his drive to produce excellence has been a key to delivering these projects on time and on budget.
